When we put the Arpanet and Internet together in the 1970s and 1980s, we envisioned a world with all computers -- and hence all people -- connected to each other. We envisioned global access to information, and personal and professional cooperation across geography. We knew there would be trust issues but we couldn't see how to work through the complexities. We're now grappling with those problems. The Mobby approach is deep, broad and full of promise.

Biography

Dr. Crocker is the former chairman of ICANN and co-founder of Cybercash, one of the earliest digital currencies developed in 1998. Dr. Crocker led the development of the protocols for the Arpanet, invented the RFC (Request For Comment) document system today used by the Internet Engineering Task Force and projects such as ERC (Ethereum Request for Comment) in the blockchain sector. Dr. Crocker has a PhD in computer science from UCLA. He was the founding director of the IETF's Security Area, founding chair of ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee, and board member of the Internet Society.
